Simbiosis architecture is a group of young Mexican students interested in creating spaces based on environmental context and today’s age.

Our work seeks to fuse architecture and technology, art and design, and to experiment with architectural spaces, and materials in our own way of conceiving, habitating, and seeing, but overall our way of feeling and perceiving architecture.

We believe that contemporary architecture conveys mankind’s purest form of expression in its surroundings and in nature as the mother who gives life and from which all spaces spring.

Why SIMBIOSIS?

Meaning: Kind of biological interaction in which one species cannot survive without the other, in other ways they benefit from each other. Organisms involved are called symbioses.
There are many kinds of symbiotic associations, a few examples:
• Parasitism: In which the association is disadvantageous or destructive for the organism or one of its members.
• Mutualism: in which the association is advantageous or often necessary for one or both organisms and not harmful to either.
As the definition says, symbiosis takes place between living organisms. That’s the way we conceive architectural spaces, as living organisms, that breathe, produce heat, posses a skin and a structure, they grow and they are transformed, they are conceived as macro organisms that house other organisms inside them (human beings). However in a larger scale of things these organisms are a part of much bigger organisms, they become microorganisms, cells, that together with other cells they form living thinking organisms that are in constant motion (cities).

Architectural spaces house different types o mutualism symbiosis, such as the symbiotic union of architectural design and structure, construction and environment, form and space, but the most important of these is the close relationship between these spaces and mankind. Their relationship is so necessary for both organisms that they not only need it to survive, but also to exist.

SIMBIOSIS’s main objective is to propose an alternative way of thinking and habitating architecture; we are one of many proposals whose aim is to foster the close symbiotic relationship that has currently been forgotten between nature and modern civilization.
